Poetry: Mimi Khalvati

Three sonnets by Mimi Khalvati, in a translation by Katarzyna Kręglewska, can be found in the Almanach Between for 2020. The conversation with the poet will touch on themes that might enable us to live better in the situation(s) in which we find ourselves at present. Born in Iran, Khalvati is a major voice in modern British poetry. A traditional poet of great delicacy and resource, she also boldly touches on major themes of the contemporary world. She is discussed in Görtschacher’s and Malcolm’s Companion to Contemporary British and Irish Poetry (Wiley-Blackwell, 2020).
